Chinwag Live: On Tour

Anything planned for the afternoon of Thursday 27th September? Fancy sampling some Chinwag Live action at ad:tech London? Well this year you can...

supported by:

The busy halls of Olympia 2 get a get a new addition this year as we host one of our lively and informative sessions on site - it's Chinwag Live 'On Tour'.

If you missed the Chinwag Live session 'Media Widgetised' in May, or felt there were questions left unanswered, you can quiz our panellists and discuss the issues with them from 3.30-4.30pm in the Digital Consumer Forum.

Our session asks: how will the growth of widgets, aggregators and web-feeds effect the online media landscape?

More on media widgetised

When you can get all your favourite bits of the web delivered to a feed reader or personalised homepage, bypassing the "destination website" setup, what are the implications for brands, marketing and digital media?

This seems to be where things are heading as media is delivered by RSS and content is "widgetised" - deportalized, snipped, aggregated and mashed up everywhere.

Do newly launched brands and businesses even need a website? Are web services the new black?

In fact, isn't mobile the better platform for RSS feeds and widgetised content? Will mobile widgeteers steal a march on the web?

In turn, while widgetization poses challenges to publishers, RSS offers huge opportunities to brands, media and marketers, the surface of which has barely been grazed.

Join us at Ad:tech London 2007 to explore how widgetisation will impact web and mobile media...

What Is Chinwag Live?

Chinwag Live is a new series of events from the Chinwag community established to cast an enquiring light on trends in the digital media industry.

Founded with the purpose of lifting the lid on the issues facing practitioners and enterprises right across the sector, it aims to tackle topics in the full spirit of community participation in a formal, relaxed setting and be a connecting force for ideas and talent.

We specifically chose venues that are small, intimate and friendly to create an atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable participating. Unfortunately, this also means that space is limited, so it's best to book early.
