Will the TV-like experience of
Joost and
Babelgum gain traction?
Can the long tail of content released by video on demand find
sufficiently lucrative audiences? How can TV indies viably operate
in the web marketplace?
In turn, has YouTube and the videoblogging trend irrevocably shifted
expectations, fostering a sense of entitlement to comment upon,
share and customise our online media experience, or will there
always be a big appetite for the passive, lean-back experience?
If TV's supposedly finest minds can't even re-commission the most
timeshifted show in 2007 - NBC's
Studio 60 On The Sunset
Strip (timeshifting viewers still aren't counted in US TV
ratings and it's been axed after one series), is this the first in a
slew of casualties for high-end, quality broadcasting as antiquated
measurement models lag behind the realities of the
TIVO/Sky+ era, or
is it the death knell?
Join our panel of experts and innovators in the field to debate the
issues raised by the ascent of web TV.
It's set to be a lively session. Places are limited, so if you want
to be part of it, it's best to book early.

What Is Chinwag Live?
Chinwag Live is a new series of events from the Chinwag community established to cast an enquiring light on trends in the digital media industry.
Founded with the purpose of lifting the lid on the issues facing practitioners and enterprises right across the sector, it aims to tackle topics in the full spirit of community participation in a formal, relaxed setting and be a connecting force for ideas and talent.
We specifically chose venues that are small, intimate and friendly to create an atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable participating. Unfortunately, this also means that space is limited, so it's best to book early.
